How many times a day do you think that you should lose some pounds?

How many times a day do you dislike your small tummy or the cellulite on your thighs? How many times do you notice that your jeans are a little too tight?

If you don't feel good in your body, you can't feel great in this bigger vessel that we call life.

In my last blog post, I suggested that you get yourself an "I feel beautiful!" dress. If you don't own one yet, have a look at my last blog post. You can read it HERE.

Today, I give you another easy tip on how you can drastically improve your body image.

Let's get back to my initial question:
How many times a day do you have critical thoughts around your body image?

Ten times? Fifty times? A hundred times?

No matter what number you come up with, this number is too high! You have to understand that this kind of self-criticism doesn't serve you. It only wears you down and dims your natural light.

Unfortunately, there's no button you can press to instantly and permanently get rid of negative thoughts. But there are easy ways how to consistently give your thoughts a new direction so that you no longer focus on your seeming inadequacies but your most beautiful assets.

It works! But you need to practice and implement it in your daily life. That's why it is important to choose simple ways like this little exercise to get results. If it's getting complicated, we all tend to go back to our routine that might not serve us.

Here are the three simple steps that only take a few moments of your time. You can easily integrate them into your busy life. "I have no time!" is no excuse:

Step 1:

Pick a part of your body that you like. It could be your hair, your face, your forehead, your shoulders, your hands, your arms, your buttocks, your feet, your toes, your eyes, one of your birthmarks, a specific part of your tummy, your left breast, your right breast, the color, or scent of your skin.

No matter how small this part is that you pick, the important thing is that you like it and consider it beautiful. This part of your body will accompany you for the rest of today.

Step 2:

As soon as you notice that you are thinking about this exasperating cellulite, your tummy or your love handles, you deliberately stop this thought and put your focus on the part of your body that you have chosen for today.

Think about WHY you like this part of your body. Is it the color, shape, scent, flexibility, or strength that you adore? Take a moment to express your full appreciation for this beautiful body part and to expand and bask in the good feelings that you're having right now.

As soon as you feel good again, you can get back to your daily life.

Continue to do this throughout the day. Whenever you notice judging, deprecating, or otherwise negative thoughts about your body, your deliberately say STOP to this thought and shift your focus to the part of your body that you love.

Step 3:

Tomorrow, you are going to choose another part of your body that you love, and you repeat this exercise with this new part of your body.

If you do this, you'll gain two rewards:

1. Your thought patterns start to change. You begin to condition your brain to think about what you love about your body, instead of thinking about your apparent deficits.

2. Focusing on a different body part that you love each day will make you more and more aware of how beautiful your body is.

Give yourself 30 days, and you'll see your body in a different light.

As I said, it is unlikely that you'll change your body image overnight. But it's worth putting in a little effort because your body will stay with you until the very end. Wouldn't it be appropriate to love that amazing vessel we are born with? Without it, we couldn't experience the world, life, and love.

When your focus lies on everything that makes you beautiful, you'll have a new sense of self-confidence, you will hold yourself differently, you will move differently, you will have a different energy, and you will feel differently.

Just imagine how much more joyful seeking for the love of your life will be if you feel good or even great in your body, instead of overly critical. You will become a magnet for love, just because you'll see yourself through the eyes of love.

Have fun with this exercise & have fun feeling great in your body!

Sending you heaps of love,

Rosemarie
